The story of R & J Contractors didn’t start in an office; it started on a roof. Our founder, Rigo, began learning the trade when he was just 15 years old. He didn’t just learn how to lay shingles, he learned the grit, the heat, and the precision required to protect a home. He spent nearly a decade mastering the craft, but it was a life-changing moment at age 24 that turned a trade into a mission.
When Rigo found out he and his wife were expecting their first daughter, Jari, the world changed. He knew he wanted to build something that belonged to his family, something defined by honesty and hard work. That was the year he took a leap of faith and started his own company.
A Growing Family, A Growing Vision. For years, Rigo built his reputation one roof at a time, specifically serving the families in McKinney and the surrounding North Texas communities. Six years later, the family grew again with the birth of his second daughter, Juliana. As his girls grew, so did the business. What started as a local operation in McKinney eventually expanded, fueled by a reputation for never cutting corners.
Today, we are proud to serve the entire state of Texas. We’ve recently grown our team to include door-to-door sales, allowing us to reach homeowners who have been hit by Texas’s notorious storms, people who need an advocate they can trust when dealing with insurance companies.
The Team Behind the Name Even as we’ve grown to cover the whole state, we haven’t lost our “small family” soul. We don’t have corporate boardrooms; we have a dinner table.
